The Prayer was the only order that was commanded by Allaah directly to His Messenger may Allaah exalt his mention during his night journey. Allaah Says (what means): 'Exalted is He who took His slave [i.e. Prophet Muhammad] by night from Al-Masjid Al-Haraam to Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa, whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing.' [Quran 17: 1] Prayer was also obligatory upon all the prophets, may Allaah exalt their mention, and their nations.

In the Quran, Allaah ordains us hundreds of times to establish the Prayer. Allaah Says (what means): '...Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers a decree of specified times...' [Quran 4: 103] And (what means): 'Establish the Prayer, and give Zakaat (poor-due) and bow with those who bow (in worship and obedience).' [Quran 2: 43]

The Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam said: 'Islam is built upon five pillars: Bearing witness that none is worthy of worship but Allaah and that Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam is His Messenger, establishing the Prayer, paying Zakaah, observing Fast in Ramadhaan and performing Hajj.' [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim]

The significance of Prayer is so great that one is ordered to observe it whether traveling or not, in safety or in fear. Allaah Says (what means): 'Be guardians of your prayers, and of the midmost prayer, and stand up with devotion to Allaah. And if you go in fear, then (pray) standing or on horseback. And when you are again in safety, remember Allaah, as He has taught you that which (heretofore) you knew not.' [Quran 2: 238-239]

Moreover, it is the first act that the person will be held accountable for on the Day of Recompense. The Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam, said: 'The first act that the slave will be held accountable for on the Day of Judgment will be the Prayer. If it is good, then the rest of his deeds will be good. And if it is bad, then the rest of his deeds will be bad.' [At-Tabaraani]
Back during slavery, when Black people like me talked to the slaves, they didnt kill em, they sent some old house Negro along behind him to undo what he said. You have to read the history of slavery to understand this. There were two kinds of Negroes. There was that old house Negro and the field Negro. And the house Negro always looked out for his master. When the field Negroes got too much out of line, he held them back in check. He put em back on the plantation. The house Negro could afford to do that because he lived better than the field Negro. He ate better, he dressed better, and he lived in a better house. He lived right up next to his master - in the attic or the basement. He ate the same food his master ate and wore his same clothes. And he could talk just like his master - good diction. And he loved his master more than his master loved himself. Thats why he didnt want his master hurt. If the master got sick, hed say, Whats the matter, boss, we sick? [Laughter] When the masters house caught afire, hed try and put the fire out. He didnt want his masters house burned. He never wanted his masters property threatened. And he was more defensive of it than the master was. That was the house Negro. But then you had some field Negroes, who lived in huts, had nothing to lose. They wore the worst kind of clothes. They ate the worst food. And they caught hell. They felt the sting of the lash. They hated their master. Oh yes, they did. If the master got sick, theyd pray that the master died. If the masters house caught afire, theyd pray for a strong wind to come along. This was the difference between the two. And today you still have house Negroes and field Negroes. Im a field Negro.

Asalaamul Alaaikum dear brothers and sisters!

Here is a video in response to Brother Rnjiggas favorite Hamd video. Hamd basically translates into praising Allah. In this video, Sheikh Ajmi and Sheikh Afasy make Qital Qunoot. Sheikh Ajmi made his dua for the Mujahideen of Afghanistan when they were fighting the communist Russians. Afasys dua is just for the whole ummah. SubhanAllah, I actually dedicated this video to the ummah, all of the opressed muslim brothers and sisters wherever they might be. May Allah free you of your opressors. Also dedicated to the brave Mujahideen of this ummah wherever they might be. May Allah grant them paradise, and all his righteous slaves paradise. ameen.
Abdullah Hakim Quick, the first American graduate of the Islamic University of Madinah, presents the Muslim contribution to modern civilization and their influence during their 700 year rule in Al-Andulus (present-day Spain). Topics of discussion include the Muslim contribution to geography, navigation, astronomy, physics, medicine, chemistry, mathematics and pharmacology as well as the early history of Muslims in the Americas. This extensive survey also analyzes the reasons why Muslim Spain declined from its status as a `wonder of the world` to a lost treasure which is lamented to this day. It concludes with a slideshow of photos, taken by Imam Quick himself, that illustrate much of the material covered. Other topics discussed: stereotyping, Islam as a religion of monotheism, the message of Prophet Muhammad`s last sermon, city names with Arabic roots, the Melungeons, Muslim slaves in Brazil, Spanish and Portuguese interaction with Muslim explorers, debunking the myth about Islam spreading by the sword, and the Muslim influence on Europe`s exploration of the `new world`.

Abdullah Hakim Quick was born in the U.S. and accepted Islam in Canada in 1970. He pursued his study of Islam at the Islamic University of Madinah where he graduated and received an ijaza from the College of Da`wah and Islamic Sciences in 1979.
`The cities in [Spain]... the descriptions that come in the literature are beautiful descriptions of people being able to live, what I would call, in a holistic fashion. They were able to develop science in such a way that the science did not destroy the environment.`

'I had a slave-girl who used to herd sheep for me. One day I discovered that a wolf had killed one of her sheep, and I'm a man from the children of Adam, I get upset like they get upset, and I slapped her in the face. Then I went to the Prophet who impressed upon me the seriousness of my act. I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, should I not set her free?' He said, 'Bring her to me.' He asked her, 'Where is Allah', She said, 'He is above the heavens.' He said, 'Who am I?' She said, 'You are the Messenger of Allah.' He said,
Truly, those who believe, and do deeds of righteousness, and perform As-Salat (the prayers), and give Zakat (obligatory charity), they will have their reward with their Lord. On them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve`

`And those who believe in (the Oneness of) Allh and His Messengers they are the Siddqn (i.e. those followers of the Prophets who were first and foremost to believe in them) and the martyrs with their Lord. They shall have their reward and their light`

`Men whom neither trade nor sale (business) diverts from the remembrance of Allh (with heart and tongue) nor from performing As-Salt (the prayers) nor from giving the Zakt (obligatory charity). They fear a Day when hearts and eyes will be overturned (out of the horror of the torment of the Day of Resurrection). That Allh may reward them according to the best of their deeds, and add even more for them out of His Grace. And Allh provides without measure to whom He wills.`

`Allh will not leave the believers in the state in which you are now, until He distinguishes the wicked from the good. Nor will Allh disclose to you the secrets of the Ghaib (Unseen), but Allh chooses of His Messengers whom He wills. So believe in Allh and His Messengers. And if you believe and fear Allh, then for you there is a great reward`

`And as for those who believe (in the Oneness of Allh) and do righteous good deeds, Allh will pay them their reward in full. And Allh does not like the Zalimn (polytheists and wrong doers)`

`Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allhu `alayhi wa sallam]): `O My slaves who believe (in the Oneness of Allh Islmic Monotheism), be afraid of your Lord (Allah) and keep your duty to Him. Good is (the reward) for those who do good in this world, and Allah`s earth is spacious (so if you cannot worship Allah at a place, then go to another)! Only those who are patient shall receive their reward in full, without reckoning`
