I would like to thank everyone for their interest and offer my humble story, God Willing. Actually, a very nice Christian gentleman asked me through email why and how I left Christianity for Islam. So this is more or less a copy of the letter that I sent back to him.
http://www.islamic-invitation.com

Many Muslim women treat their sisters in Islam terribly. We have gotten away from treating each other equally and with love rather than judging one another by race, social class, or status.

The poem I've used here (from www.islamicpoetry.com) illustrates this point beautifully. I have also included hadiths about brotherhood/sisterhood in Islam and the things that we can use to strengthen our ties and establish love between ourselves.

The nasheed used here is

What service is required the most by the Ummah?

Please share the video with your contacts; if it could make a difference.

Sometimes we complain about our times, that we are living in the worst times -- the Ummah is weak, the Ummah is defeated and disunited, we wish we were living in the time of the Sahabah (radiyallahu `anhum) or times of the heroic Islamic eras.

Second Reason: We shouldn`t complain about our time; instead we should be grateful to Allah `Azza wa Jall that we are living in these days. Why? If you look at the status of the Sahabah, it is the highest status among the Muslim Ummah; they are the highest, the best and the greatest. And then the Tabi`een and then those who came after them11. How come the Sahabah were the best?

Some of the reasons include that the Sahaba built Islam from scratch; the Sahabah came and there was nothing so they established the foundation of the Deen whereas anyone else who came after them, the building was already there and they came and added pieces to that foundation here and there; and if there were any broken pieces, like bid`ah12, they would fix it. But the foundation was already laid down by the Sahaba. And this is what made them the best generation because their job was the most difficult job. It is important for us to realise what is the demand of our times so that we fulfil it because the things that at-Tabi`een emphasized on for example may be different from the things that the Taba Tabi`een emphasized on.

To make this point clear: if Al-Bukhari (rahimahullah) came one hundred years later and did the same thing, he would not have the same status that he has among us now. If Imam ash-Shafi`i (rahimahullah) came one hundred years later and did the same thing, he would not have the same status that he has among us now. Why? Because the needs were different from time-to-time.

You will notice that the four Imam`s of Fiqh lived in same Century, and the six Imam`s of hadith also lived within that same Century. This tells you that the need at one time was Fiqh and the need in another time was hadith. I am saying this because if we want to serve Islam the best now, we need to understand what is needed now.

We find that some brothers would go and emphasize on Da`wah while some brothers will go and emphasise on `Ilm. We do need to emphasise on these areas and every area, but if we were to ask ourselves the question of what is needed the most in our time today, we would find that it is quite similar to the time of the Sahabah because now we have reached to the lowest level that we have reached in Fourteen Centuries.

So our time that we are complaining about, among all the other generations after the Sahaba, although our time is not exactly the same it is the most similar to the time of the Sahaba. Why? Because when the Sahabah came there was no Islamic authority and there is no Islamic authority today and this was not the case for fourteen hundred years. When the Sahabah came, they fought entire surroundings including the two super powers -- the Persian Empire and the Roman Empire -- and all the `Arabs around them that were against them.

And this is similar to our situation today and this wasn`t the case in our history before. In our history before you would find Islamic authority, you would find people to assist you in Al-Haqq, and there was a place to make Hijrah to. Now we find that the whole world is waging a war against us and this is similar to time of the Sahabah
Unlike all the videos until now, this is the only one that has no humor in it. The topic is based on a question `Why Islam` so instead of answering many emails on this subject, I decided to answer it via a video. Now, I didn`t laugh my way into this Deen but rather my decision was based on being intellectually convinced so I hope to share somethings that was going through my head and at the same time, explain to the viewers what Islam really is.

The month of Ramadan is confirmed by the sighting of the new moon, or by the completion of thirty days of Sha’baan.

The Prophet (sa) said: `We are an unlettered nation; we neither write nor calculate. The month is so-much and so-much (i.e. sometimes 29 days, sometimes 30)` [Hadith Bukhari]

Abu Hurairah reported that the Prophet (sa) instructed: `Fast after you have seen it [the new crescent] and end the fast [at the end of the month] when you see it. If it is hidden from you, then wait until the thirty days of Sha`ban have passed.` [Hadith Bukhari and Muslim.]

^ This Hadith is a general address directed to the whole Muslim world.

The testimony of sighting the Hilal (crescent of the new moon) can be achieved by:

(a) Direct sighting, where you see it yourself, or
(b) Indirect sighting, where someone sees it, and you rely on his sighting.

Ibn `Umar said: `The people were looking for the new moon and when I reported to the Messenger of Allah that I had seen it, he fasted and ordered the people to fast.` [Hadith Abu Dawud, al-Hakim, Ibn Hibban, who declared it sahih]

Allah says in the interpretation of the meaning: “We hear and we Obey” [Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:285]
Whoever sees the Hilal or hears about it from a trustworthy source (by one adult, sane, trustworthy, reliable Muslim who has good eyesight) is obliged to fast.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: A Bedouin came to the Prophet (sa) and said: I have sighted the moon. Al-Hasan added in his version: that is, of Ramadan. He asked: Do you testify that there is no god but Allah? He replied: Yes. He again asked: Do you testify that Muhammad is the Apostle of Allah? He replied: Yes, and he testified that he had sighted the moon. He said: Bilal, announce to the people that they must fast tomorrow. [Hadith Sunan Abu-Dawud]

Using calculations to determine the moon is a Bid’a (innovation)

Definition of Bid’a: To introduce something new or take something out (beliefs / actions) from the religion of Islaam, that neither Allah nor His Messenger (sa) legislated i.e. with no authentic proof by the Qur’aan or Authentic Sunnah.

Allah says in the interpretation of the meaning: `This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed my favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islaam as your religion` (5:4)

Allahs Messenger (sa) said: `There is nothing that Allaah ordered you with except that I have ordered you with it, and there is nothing that Allaah forbade you from except that I have forbidden you from it` [al-Bayhaqee and others].

^ Allah has perfected our Deen for us and sent us our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (sa) with a message for the whole of mankind … Are we claiming Allah is a liar that he missed some things out or the Prophet (sa) did not do his job sufficiently? We need to fear Allah, and realise have no right to innovate!

The Prophet Muhammad (sa) said: `I warn you of the newly invented matters (in the religion), and every newly invented matter is an innovation, and every innovation is misguidance, and every misguidance is in the Hellfire` [An-Nasa`ee]

He (sa) used to declare at the beginning of his lectures: `….and the best speech is the Speech of Allah, and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (sa), and the worst of all affairs are the newly invented matters (in the religion)` [Saheeh Muslim]

So the issue of Innovation is not to be taken lightly. It does not matter how good a thing may seem appear to be, or sound – if Allah or His Prophet (sa) did not authorise it, stay well away or we will pay the consequences in this life and the next.

Some of them think that you just have to have faith without clear proof. However when it comes to normal things in life people apply a lot of thought such as buying a car, house, choosing a University course or which bank to join, so how can it be that when it comes to the most important questions about life; which define the purpose of our lives that we should just have 'faith' without being convinced absolutely. It is therefore vital for a Muslim to believe in the existence of Allah (swt) without any doubt whatsoever and to believe in the Prophethood of Muhammad (saw) and that the Qur'an is the final revelation sent by Allah (swt) to humanity. Islam is unlike all the other religions as it has a decisive proof that convinces the mind.Read and Listen Holy Quran online:http://www.ediscoverislam.com/quran-online.aspDiscover Islam Web Book CD..A comprehensive learning guide to understanding Islam..For Muslims and non Muslims:http://www.ediscoverislam.com/download.asp

Lying about Allah and His Messenger, Forging statements concerning Allah or forging Hadith
Question and Answer Session

The major sins are those acts which have been forbidden by Allah in the Quran and by His Messenger (PBUH) in the Sunnah and which have been made clear by the actions of the first righteous generation of Muslims, the Companions of the Prophet (s.a.w.s).
Allah (s.w.t) says concerning them in the Glorious Quran:
If you avoid the great sins which you are forbidden to do, We shall expiate from you your (small) sins, and admit you to a Noble Entrance (i.e. Paradise) [Quran 4:31]

Although the major sins are many, close to seventy according to Ibn `Abbas (RA), the following hadeeth highlights the seriousness of such sins:

The Prophet (PBUH) said: `Avoid the seven things that doom a person to Hell.` They said, `O Messenger of Allah, what are they?` He said, `Associating others with Allah (shirk); witchcraft (sihr); killing a soul whom Allah has forbidden to kill, except for a lawful reason; consuming riba; consuming the property of orphans; fleeing from the battlefield; and slandering chaste and innocent believing women.` [Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 2615; Muslim, 89]

It is therefore of paramount importance that Muslims gains knowledge about these major sins and do their utmost to avoid them. In this major sins series, Imaam Abu Usamah goes through the book `Kitaab ul-Kabair` (Book of major sins) written by the great scholar of Islam, Imaam Adh-Dhahabi (rahimahullah) (d. 748 AH). Abu Usamah uses his dynamic and captivating style to expound upon each chapter of the book correcting any weak hadeeth that may be present.
