Yasir Qadhi - Video Excerpt<br /> <br /> Abu Ammaar Yasir Qadhi is a lecturer and Islamic cleric who has authored several books about Islam. He is a popular speaker in many Muslim circles in the United States, Canada, England and Australia. He is one of the few people who has combined a traditional seminary training with Western education.<br /> <br /> Yasir Qadhi was born in Houston, Texas to Pakistani parents in 1975, went to high school in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and completed a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston. After working for Dow Chemical for a short stint, he decided to pursue an education in Islamic studies, and left for the Islamic University of Madinah in Saudi Arabia. There, he completed a second Bachelors degree, specializing in hadith studies, and then went on to complete an M.A. in Theology. Presently, he is completing his Ph.D. in Islamic studies at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.<br /> <br /> Apart from his studies, he is an active Instructor in the AlMaghrib Institute and the AlKauthar Institute. He appears on a number of Islamic satellite channels (Islam Channel in England; Al-Huda Channel in Saudi Arabia; and Al-Fajr Channel in Egypt), where he teaches theology, Seerah, Tajweed, and other topics. He gives regular Friday sermons and lectures. In March 2007, he started blogging at MuslimMatters.org, where he is the group-blog`s lead guest-writer.

Navaid Aziz was born in Montreal, Canada. He finished his high school with honors from Centennial Regional High School. He then graduated from Champlain College in Commerce and Social Sciences. He completed his diploma in Arabic in Madina from 2000-2003, after which he has been pursuing his second year of the Sharee'ah faculty. He has studied under many great scholars including, and more specifically with: Saaleh As-Sindee, Ahmad Rashid Ar-Ruhaily, Saalih al-'Aqeel, and Ahmad Al-Ghunaymaan. Some of his close teachers have been Sh. Yasir Qadhi and Dr. Abu Ameenah Bilal Philips, as well as other illustrious personalities in Madina.
