americanfriend: I think you're doing the right thing buy studying with an open intellect and heart. Since blind acceptance of Islaam would be no acceptance at all according to Islaam. Islaam is a different religion, it doesn't require "faith" as most people would have it, it requires understanding and confirmation of belief (Imaan) in the "Al-Haqq" (Truth). Allahu Alim (Allah knows best) but it seems to me that Allah(swt) has taken from the hand and guiding you step by step, mashallah, and that hand hold will get firmer by the day inshaAllah.

Shokran.. I spent so many years raised in USA with Christian Grandmother who told me that if I dint believe that christ was only savior that I would not go to heaven. I feel pressure then i want to escape. I am studying Quoraan to learn more but is very slow as I am learning arabic and that takes time. I know so little about Islam and my greatest focus this moment is to bring peace to violent conflicts and we are adopting our fifth child from Ethiopia.
I write and sing songs to world leaders for peace. i have done private shows for Shiekh Hamza Imam Zaed Imam Mehdi Khorasani Dalaii Lllama and United Nations ambassador to Kenya.
When the time comes ..en sha allah ..I would post on this site for you to see. Thank you for your compassion and patience

I am a typical non muslim uninformed american..then i get cancer and nearly die...then my heart awakens to the suffering and inequities in th world..one morning i wake up with a thirst for learning arabic and my current faith is "a world at peace" i see arabic as the language of peace for this next century..r

i dont fully understand what god has`planned for me but i havent done shahada and am only a few surahs into learning the beautiful koran.r
i sing songs of peace for world leaders and have wife four kids and adopting a new child from ethiopia ..a land where muslims and christians live together in peace.r
