Description:
When Eid salah was enjoined upon the Muslims at the time of our Beloved Prophet (Peace and Blessings be
upon him), the entire community would gather together in the court yard and pray as one body, bowing and
prostrating to Allah Subhanahu wataala, united in their worship. Their submission to Allah Azza wajjaal, reâ€Â
affirmed as they came together to celebrate the Mercy and Blessings bestowed upon them by their Lord.
Today, alhamdu lillah, we have thousands of Muslims all over London praying Eid Salah in their local
masajid, but how beautiful would it be if we were to all gather together in one place, and pray to Allah Jalla
waala as one body, the way the companions prayed with the Prophet (may Allah give him blessings and grant
him peace)? How wonderful would it be for our children all over the city to celebrate Eid together on one day,
to feel that unity, the way other faiths unite their children on their auspicious days of celebration? Would it
not be only right then that they celebrate on the day of Eid and not a separate Eid fun day 2 weeks later
confusing them and harming their future? How blessed would it be to include nonâ€ÂMuslims in our
celebrations the way the companions did so that they may see the true peace and beauty of Islam in our
bowing and prostrating to the One and Only Lord Allah? These are the aims of the ECC project initiated by Al
Fitrah.
